Der mit dem Artist of The Decade Award (1998) sowie dem Lifetime Achievement Award der Americana Music Association (2006) ausgezeichnete texanische Singer & Songwriter Alejandro Escovedo veröffentlicht mit Burn Something Beautiful sein erstes Album nach fast fünf Jahren.

Für die Produktion schloss er sich mit Peter Buck (R.E.M.) und Scott McCaughey (The Minus 5) zusammen, die nicht nur als Co-Autoren der Songs fungierten, sondern auch als Produzenten.

Escovedo und seine Mitstreiter schufen hier in enger Zusammenarbeit ein großartiges Werk. Ob sie das Rock´n´Roll Leben feiern, die heilende Kraft der Liebe thematisieren oder die Mortalität betrachten – auf Burn Something Beautiful verbindet sich im Kern alles mit Escovedos souliger Stimme und Herzen.

Co-Produzent Peter Buck sagt zu dieser Zusammenarbeit: Ich bin ein Fan von Alejandros Musik seit über 30 Jahren, und dieses Album mit ihm aufzunehmen, war genauso gut wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte. Ich denke, er, Scott McCaughey und ich haben uns durch diese Zusammenarbeit wirklich weiterentwickelt als Texter und Musiker. Das Ergebnis ist unvergleichlich mit allem, was jeder einzelne von uns je in der Vergangenheit gemacht hat.
