Selah Sue sorgte mit ihrem selbstbetitelten Debütalbum im Jahr 2011 für große Aufmerksamkeit. Ihre Mischung aus rauer Stimme, souligem Gefühl, Reggae-Flair, R&B-Grooves und poppiger Zugänglichkeit machte sie schnell über Belgien hinaus bekannt.
