Schlagzeuger Shannon Larkin und Gitarrist Tony Rombola sind seit Jahren mit Godsmack zwischen Hard Rock, Metal und Post-Grunge unterwegs.
Auf diesem Album hat die beiden der Blues gepackt.

Komplettiert wird die Besetzung von Bassist Brian Carpenter, zuvor bei der Southern-Rock-Band Blackfoot, und Sänger Ray »Sir Rafer John« Cerbone.
Gemeinsam wollen sie die Tradition des Genres hochhalten und ihm zugleich einen eigenen Stempel aufdrücken.

Das Ergebnis klingt deutlich düsterer und härter als üblich.
Larkin hat dafür den Begriff »Dark Blues« geprägt.
